The Probus Club of Kempston

JOIN OUR CLUB AND
ENJOY THE FELLOWSHIP
OF OUR MEMBERS
Our primary aim is to provide an opportunity for retired professional and business men and women to meet like minded people at a monthly lunch and enjoy the fellowship.
The Probus Club of Kempston was founded in 1984 and we meet for lunch on the second Tuesday of each month at The Woodland Manor Hotel in Clapham, near Bedford. Gathering at 12 for 12:30 we usually have an after-lunch guest speaker and finish by about 2.45. Members may bring a guest to all meetings except in April which is our AGM. We also have a range of outings throughout the year which are much enjoyed.

Membership numbers around the mid 40’s. Applicants for membership usually attend a monthly lunch as a guest of a current member and then apply formally with their lunch host and another acting as proposer and seconder. However, we appreciate that some applicants may be new to the area or moving from another Probus Club and may not actually know any current members. Such applicants are warmly invited to contact our Secretary Fred Pearce to enquire about possible membership. Contact details here.

Thank you for taking time to read about us and if anything takes your interest then please do not hesitate to contact us.
Welcome from Ian Stephen - our President 2024-25
I bid you a very warm welcome to the website for the Probus Club of Kempston. The name PROBUS derives from  PROfessional and  BUSiness and the Kempston Probus Club is for retired or semi-retired men and women who have been active in these fields. Suffice it to say that we have accountants, builders, clergymen, engineers, surveyors, teachers, company directors, farmers, local government officials, members of the armed forces and many others in our midst. We are truly an eclectic mix!
